Best and Worse Summer food choices!

What are the best and worst picks for summer food? Which would you choose: a cheeseburger or a hot dog? A cheeseburger with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, ketchup and mustard adds up to 600 calories and 28 grams of fat, while a hot dog has: 270 calories and 12 grams of fat.

As for side dishes, potato salad has 220 calories, 12 grams of fat. Macaroni salad has 170 calories and seven grams of fat. Baked beans are only 150 calories and two grams of fat.

Here's a tough one: veggies with ranch dip or chips and guacamole? Would you believe the healthier choice is the chips - with fewer calories and less fat?

When choosing a drink, stay away from lemonade or sweet tea. Go for unsweetened tea and water with lemon and you will quench your thirst with fewer calories.

Your best bet when it comes to alcohol is a mint Mojito, which has only 175 calories. A Margarita packs 500 calories and 35 grams of sugar.

If you're screaming for ice cream, remember this: Baskin-Robbins Oreo outrageous sundae packs more than 1100 calories. Instead, grab two scoops of Oreo cookies and cream in a cake cone, which has 365 calories.

Final splurge: blueberry pie or strawberry shortcake? The better choice is the shortcake.

And what's the healthiest fruit around? The answer: blueberries. They contain a slew of phytochemicals that can protect you from inflammation, heart disease, Alzheimer's and cancer.
